A qualified Youth Worker with a vast amount of experience and the regional youth work development officer for the West Midlands, Ruth has played a valuable role in the development of youth work in Gloucestershire. Living in the county, Ruth is passionate about ensuring youth work remains in the county. She brings expertise in youth work policy and will be leading the development of the Level Three Youth Work training.
Matt has lived and worked in and around Gloucester for many years, and has always been interested in helping others. Matt has volunteered on a range of projects over the years and works with young people with physical disabilities. He brings to the Board an expertise in care, especially an understanding of young people with disabilities.
Andy has never let his disability prevent him from doing anything. Whether it was helping to develop the Princes Trust Volunteer Programme in Gloucestershire or taking part in live roleplaying weekends, Andy has put 100% into everything. He now wants to take on another role and as the newly elected Company Secretary Andy brings to our work a unique sense of creativity.
Now working for EDF Energy, Nick has been an IT consultant for many years and brings IT skills and management experience to our organisation. He has always been interested in what he can do outside of his professional working life and is keen to develop the challenge that being on the Board of Youth and Community Services will bring. His commitment, expertise and useful links will be a major asset to our work. This eagerness to develop his role sees Nick overseeing the role of Treasurer for the time being.
Treasurer and long-time volunteer with Glosaid Youth Action Rozi has a lot to offer our Board. As we strive to continue the ethos that Glosaid developed over 50 years, Rozi will lead our development in the participation, empowerment and community involvement of Youth and Community Services.
Lisa has supported Simon through all his work and has also been a part-time youth worker as well as a support worker for young people in care. Now, as a teaching assistant Lisa brings teaching and learning skills to the Board, and has a creative eye that influences the work of the organisation and its promotional and media activities.
Our latest Board member, Dex brings a wealth of community development and engagement skills to offer our work. Always wanting to develop his role in his community, Youth and Community Services are pleased to have Dex on board and look forward to working with him as the organisation develops its unique community approach.
