Youth Work Delivery

Glosaid Youth Action

There has always been a strong link between the staff and Directors of Youth and Community Services and Glosaid Youth Action. The values and participative ethos of Glosaid is incorporated into our work and it is with pleasure that we announce the support and partnership of this youth-led charity.

Once supported by Gloucestershire County Council’s Youth Service, the young people behind Glosaid found themselves without a venue in which to meet or an office from which to work, when the Chequers Bridge Centre was closed in the summer of 2011.

The impact on the young people and their work was devastating. It was further impounded by the shocking fire that ripped through part of the empty building, destroying Glosaid's resources, paperwork and, above all, history.

The volunteers and Trustees that stayed with the charity have been striving to rebuild ever since and we are about to launch a new project this autumn in Tuffley. We are particularly thankful for the donation from the Gloucester Lions Club and this is helping to fund much needed resources and training.
